Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask His Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of the danger of further genocide in Sudan as a consequence of the massing of troops around El Obeid by the Rapid Support Forces and allied militia, following the atrocities in El Fasher in October 2025.

I refer the Noble Lord to the answers I provided on 24 June in the Private Notice Question debate on the crisis in El Obeid, and I stress again that - alongside our international partners - the UK is doing everything that we believe will make a difference on the ground, to prevent the mass loss of civilian life that we all fear.
