The Government is committed to improving transport infrastructure. For example, the Road Investment Strategy is investing £15.3 billion for the period of 2015-2020 and a further £23.5 billion for 2020-2025.

While the final infrastructure requirements for automated vehicles are not clear, the Government is also investing in trials of connected and automated vehicle technologies. These will inform the Government’s understanding of the infrastructure requirements for these vehicles.
