Children: Poverty

Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what recent estimate they have made of the levels of child poverty in England.
This question was answered on 9th July 2021
National Statistics on the number and percentage of children in low income are published annually in the “Households Below Average Income” publication.
In the three years to 2019/20, the absolute child poverty rate, before housing costs, in England was 18 per cent, down 3 percentage points since the three years to 2009/10.
