Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what assessment they have made of the risk that the works committed to in National Rail's control period 5 will slip into control period 6; which schemes, if any, they assessed as likely to slip into control period 6; and what are the new timescales for those schemes.

The Secretary of State for Transport has commissioned proposals this autumn from Network Rail Chair Sir Peter Hendy for a re-plan of the Control Period 5 enhancements programme. It would be premature to comment on the outcome of that work before it has been concluded.
