Motor Vehicles: Excise Duties

To ask Her Majesty’s Government how they distinguish between a motor trader and a motor retailer or repairer for the purposes of Vehicle Excise Duty.

The Vehicle Excise and Registration Act defines a motor trader as a manufacturer or repairer of, or a dealer in mechanically propelled vehicles. No distinction is made between a trader, retailer or repairer for the purposes of vehicle excise duty.
