Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what plans they have to fund permanent surge capacity in the NHS to manage significant increases in demand.
This question was answered on 26th October 2021
There are no such plans to separately fund permanent surge capacity. National Health Service funding to meet total patient demand is being agreed as part of the forthcoming Spending Review.
