Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they carried out an equalities assessment on the data sharing agreement on migrants' information that was signed in January between the Home Office, Department of Health and NHS England; if so, when it was carried out; and what are the equality implications.
The potential impact of the arrangements described in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the data sharing agreement signed between the Home Office, Department of Health and NHS Digital, was considered before it was agreed, in accordance with the Public Sector Equality Duty under section 149 of the Equality Act and the Secretary of State for Health’s duty on health inequalities. The MOU is subject to ongoing litigation and it would not be appropriate to comment further.
