Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what estimate they have made of the number of vehicles entering the UK mainland from the Republic of Ireland whose eventual destination is elsewhere in the EU.

There are no statistics held by the Department of Transport regarding the total number of vehicles entering the UK mainland from the Republic of Ireland whose eventual destination is elsewhere in the EU.

However, statistics are available showing the number of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) that travelled from Great Britain to mainland Europe, which were registered in the Republic of Ireland.

These figures are given in the table below:
