Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of the risks posed to other road users and pedestrians from the use of mobile concrete batching plants.
The Government is not aware of any particular risks to pedestrians or other road users associated with mobile concrete batching plants. In addition, it is considered that local authorities have sufficient powers under existing legislation to control the placement of such obstructions in the highway. For this reason, it has not been thought necessary to carry out an assessment of risk to road users or the case for increasing regulation in this regard.
