Planning Permission

(asked on 6th March 2017) - View Source

Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what steps they are taking to ensure that, where an application for temporary planning permission is made in respect of planning activity which may have a significant impact on the local environment beyond the area to which the application relates, the application is dealt with appropriately.

This question was answered on 20th March 2017

Planning law requires that applications for planning permission must be determined in accordance with the development plan for the area, unless material considerations indicate otherwise. The weight to be given to other material considerations, which may include the impact on the local environment beyond the application site, is a matter for the decision maker to determine in each case.
