Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of the extent to which local authorities are satisfied with the level of support and engagement that they are receiving from HM Government in regard to Brexit.

I am working to support a smooth and orderly Exit which delivers an outcome that works for local authorities across the country. The Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government's engagement with local authorities on EU exit has included hosting EU Exit roundtables alongside colleagues from the Department for Exiting the European Union in Cornwall and Great Yarmouth. My officials attend regional engagement events facilitated by the Local Government Association. I would encourage local authorities to continue their positive engagement with the Communities and Local Government Select Committee Inquiry ‘Brexit and Local Government’ to complement our own engagement with the sector.
