Question to the Home Office:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of the reported incident of a Home Office caseworker using a Lonely Planet guide to determine how safe it would be for an asylum applicant to return to Ho Chi Minh City.

All claims for asylum are considered on their individual merits in line with Home Office guidance, and where people establish a genuine need for protection, or a well founded fear of persecution, refugee status will be granted.
