Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what steps they are taking to facilitate the creation of new homes; and whether they are on track to meet the target of building 300,000 new homes this year.
The Government is committed to building more of the right homes in the right places and has set out an ambitious package of reform to fix the broken housing market. These include planning reforms to ensure more land is available for housing and £44 billion of financial support over the next five years to boost delivery of new housing and unblock barriers to more housebuilding. The Housing White Paper and the package of announcements at Autumn Budget puts the Government on track to create, fund and drive a housing market that delivers 300,000 homes a year on average by the middle of the next decade.
