Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, if the Health and Safety Executive will undertake an investigation to determine whether notice boards in workplaces including schools, colleges, universities and care homes meet fire safety standards; and if she will make a statement.
Answered by Sarah Newton
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 covers general fire safety in England and Wales. In Scotland this is Part 3 of the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005, supported by the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulation 2006. In the majority of premises, including schools, colleges, universities and care homes, local fire and rescue authorities are responsible for enforcing this fire safety legislation.
General fire safety in the workplace, and fire safety standards, are not the responsibility of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and therefore HSE cannot undertake an investigation into whether notice boards meet fire safety standards. The Home Office is responsible for fire and rescue policy.

Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, whether her Department has set targets for the performance of personal independence payment assessors.
Answered by Sarah Newton
The contracts awarded for the delivery of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) do not include targets in relation to the performance of individual assessors. The Department has a set of service level agreements setting out the expectations for overall service delivery, which is measured at Provider level rather than by assessor. These include the quality of assessment reports, number of days to provide advice to the Department and evidence of claimant satisfaction. Where assessors fall below the required standards and do not improve, processes are in place to revoke their approval to carry out assessments.

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, (a) how many and (b) what proportion of people with multiple sclerosis in the Stroud constituency are no longer eligible for the higher rate of mobility support as a result of the transition from disability living allowance in each year since the introduction of personal independence payment.
Answered by Sarah Newton
Due to small, disclosive sample size issues, the information requested for people with multiple sclerosis in the Stroud constituency, who are no longer eligible for the higher rate of mobility support following a Disability Living Allowance reassessment to Personal Independence Payment, is not available.
