Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, on what dates the Minister for Defence Procurement has met representatives from UK Steel since his appointment on 21 April 2023.

Steel procurement for Defence manufacture in the UK is primarily driven by primes and other companies in the supply chain. Since being appointed I have engaged extensively with the UK defence sector, including both primes and SMEs, and this has included discussions on a wide range of issues specifically including steel procurement.
