Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what representations he has made to the Government of Sudan on the detention of British citizen Dr Sidqi Kaballo.

We remain concerned about Dr Kaballo's continued detention, as well as that of other political detainees, and we will continue to press the Government of Sudan to release those arbitrarily detained immediately. Our Ambassador, and the Special Representative for Sudan and South Sudan, have raised Dr Kaballo's case with senior members of the Government of Sudan, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and have urged them to ensure that he receives the necessary medical assistance, and that he is allowed family visits. We will continue to closely monitor Dr Kaballo's situation and raise our concerns with the Government of Sudan.
