The Turn Around to Work initiative was trialled in 2014. Thirty young people were identified as suitable for work placements and five completed the programme. The low numbers reflected the complex needs of young people leaving custody and the high level of support that both employers and young people needed to make a success of placements. This model did not therefore meet the needs of young people leaving custody. This project has now been discontinued.

An evaluation of the resettlement consortia has recently been published and can be found at the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/youth-justice-resettlement-consortia-a-process-evaluation
