Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he can confirm that all NHS Trusts are no longer using Intergrowth charts as part of their fetal growth surveillance.
In December 2025, NHS England wrote to all maternity providers asking that trusts using Intergrowth Estimated Fetal Growth charts, either the 2020 or 2017 versions, move to a Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists approved alternative.
To ensure a safe transition to a new system and allow for necessary modifications, Intergrowth Estimated Fetal Weight charts will be disabled by June 2026 and replaced by other recommended charts. Gestation Related Optimal Weight charts will remain an option for all trusts transitioning from Intergrowth, should this be their preferred option.
During this crossover period, trusts continuing to use the Intergrowth charts are expected to implement an “easy to use” mitigation to ensure that all small babies are identified.
