Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what progress has been made on securing the return of Mr Tofla Ndele from the Democratic Republic of Congo to his family in the UK.

We have been providing consular assistance to Mr Ndele and his family since we were informed of his arrest in September 2017. We have regularly lobbied the local authorities to progress his case, most recently when the Ambassador raised his case with Foreign Minister She Okitundu on 15 March 2018.
