Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, whether there is currently an interim chair of the Social Mobility Commission.

There is currently not an interim Chair of the Social Mobility Commission. Progress on appointing a new Chair and Commissioners is well underway and is taking place in line with the procedures set out in the Governance Code for Public Appointments. The department looks forward to working with the successful candidate to drive forward on improving social mobility.
