Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how many applications for appeals against decisions made on war pensions have been received by his Department in each year since 2011; and what proportion of those applications for appeal have been successful for the applicant in each of those years.
There were 16,609 appeals registered under the War Pension Scheme (WPS) between 1 April 2011 and 31 March 2020. The table below shows these by the financial year in which they were registered.
