Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what plans he has to reduce the backlog of unanswered Freedom of Information requests at his Department.
This question was answered on 25th February 2021
The Ministry of Defence has a plan to drive a reduction in the backlog of outstanding FOI requests as quickly as possible through senior-level focus, visibility and engagement. However, this effort is being conducted against competing Defence Priorities, the COVID 19 pandemic and the Department's statutory obligations to all new requests received under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
