Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, when his Department last assessed the resilience of prison infrastructure, including a) power, b) water and c) heating systems, to major failure.

A condition survey of all Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) assets across the prison estate was completed in 2023, with the findings published by HMPPS through the Prison Estate Conditions Survey Programme. The survey assessed the condition of key M&E infrastructure and provided an overview of asset condition and thus resilience.
