Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether his Department has made an assessment of the potential impact of the service complaints process on the mental health of forces personnel who have made a complaint.
The Service Complaints process can be stressful and upsetting for all involved. Advice and guidance regarding the wealth of independent support and assistance available to both Complainants and Respondents is published within Joint Service Publication 831 (Redress of Individual Grievances (Service Complaints)). Furthermore, all Complainants and Respondents are entitled to the services of an Assisting Officer whose role is to support and help them throughout the process.
