Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether his Department has ruled out the possibility of the damage on board HMS Glasgow being sabotage carried out on behalf of a hostile state.

The cause of damage to cabling in HMS Glasgow has yet to be determined and it would be inappropriate of me to comment at the present time. It is not anticipated that the damage will impact on HMS Glasgow's in-service date. Security at BAE Systems' shipyard has been increased as part of the investigations into this incident.
