The Royal Air Force has a well documented expeditionary capability. Due to this and the work done to prepare crews and aircraft for possible action, armed Tornado GR4 flights were in the air and available to strike ISIL in Iraq on the morning of 27 of September, less than one day after the parliamentary vote.
