Young Offender Institutions

Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, pursuant to the Answer of 7 November 2014 to Question 213433, what estimate he has made of the number of young people placed in segregation in young offender institutions in each year between May 2010 and October 2012.
This question was answered on 20th November 2014
Prior to October 2012 data on the number of young people placed in segregation in Young Offender Institutions (YOIs) was not collected centrally. In order to provide this information we would need to check individual establishment records and this could only be done at disproportionate cost.
