Prisons: Smoking

Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, when he plans to resume the pilot arrangements for banning cigarette smoking on the prison estate.
This question was answered on 2nd February 2015
The National Offender Management Service (NOMS) has confirmed its intention to move to a smoke free policy for prisons. No date has yet been confirmed for implementation of a smoke free policy.
