Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, pursuant to the Answer of 2 February 2015 to Question 221960, how many prisoners were recruited to the credit union at Parc Prison in each month in 2014-15; what steps he has taken to increase the number of prisoners being so recruited; and if he will make a statement.

19 prisoners joined the credit union during 2014. The table below gives the latest monthly breakdown:

Leaflets and posters are provided to make prisoners aware of the service and it is also promoted by staff during the induction process. The prison is in discussion with the credit union about further ways to promote the service.
