Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what support he plans to provide to people who are served with eviction notices to ensure that due process is followed and they have access to justice in the event of court closures as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Emergency legislation is due to be laid to suspend new evictions from social or private rented accommodation while this national emergency is taking place. Furthermore, no new possession proceedings will start during this time.
