Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether an investigation is underway into how the British Army's social media accounts were breached.

All incidents of this nature are reported to the Ministry of Defence's Joint Security Coordination Centre (JSyCC) and an investigation carried out. The findings are provided to JSyCC to assure the completeness of the investigation and to allow for the promulgation of lessons learned.

An investigation, which is following this process, is underway with respect to the compromise of the British Army's Twitter and YouTube accounts. This is being supported by the National Cyber Security Centre and the National Crime Agency.
