Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what estimate his Department has made of the potential cost of decarbonising the prison estate in England and Wales.

No estimate has been made of the potential cost of decarbonising the prison estate in England and Wales.
We will be publishing our net zero carbon strategy later this year and this will inform the level of investment required to decarbonise the prison estate.
This will build on the progress previously made in reducing MoJ’s carbon emissions by 50% to 2021 since 2009/10.
