Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many people have leave to remain in the UK and are permitted to work but have no recourse to public funds.
The Home Office does not hold the data requested other than on individual case files.
Wider population data and information on the UK’s resident population is a matter for the independent Office for National Statistics. The no recourse to public funds condition is, however, applied to the leave of most migrants in the UK as a legitimate means of maintaining and protecting our economic resources, public services and taxpayer’s funds.
