Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what recent assessment he has made of the presence of Hamas activity within the UK.

The Government does not routinely comment on operational and intelligence matters.

We condemn Hamas’ abhorrent terrorist attacks against Israel and those inviting, or expressing, support for Hamas. In November 2021, the Government extended the proscription of Hamas to cover the organisation in its entirety.

Investigations into the activities of proscribed organisations, including individuals who may be members or supporters of those organisations, are an operational matter for the police and intelligence agencies.
