Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what assessment he has made of the mobility of UK Land Forces in the Arctic region in comparison to Russia forces.

The UK's Defence Contribution in the High North document, published in March this year, set out our assessment of the evolving security dynamic in the wider Arctic and High North, and the UK's planned approach to addressing the challenges unique to the region. In response to the broad spectrum of threats we face, the UK's commitment to investments in science and technology will ensure the UK possesses a range of capabilities to enable us to operate effectively with NATO and with our Arctic allies and partners.
