Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how many and what proportion of troops have been assigned to the NATO Air Policing Mission each year since 2010.

A standard Air Policing detachment is made up of some 220 personnel. Factors which affect the numbers of personnel assigned to the Air Policing Mission are; Location, Threat Assessment and Platform specifications. Numbers will also fluctuate dependent on the Lessons Learnt from previous detachments.
