Military Bases: Security Guards

Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether his Department outsources the security of UK military bases and facilities to any private contractors.

I can confirm Defence utilises private contractors to provide security at certain UK military bases and facilities. Private contractors may only be used on Ministry of Defence (MOD) establishments in the UK subject to the MOD Guard Service (MGS) retaining 75% of all unarmed civilian guarding posts across the Defence Estate.
