Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what plans his Department has for acquiring an integrated air and missile defence capability for the Royal Navy; and if he will make a statement.

The Royal Navy and the Ministry of Defence continuously review the capabilities required to deliver Royal Navy tasking, including how the Royal Navy might broaden the existing air defence and combat management systems.

I am withholding further detail as its disclosure would, or would be likely to, prejudice the capability, effectiveness or security of the Armed Forces.
