Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what discussions officials of his Department have had with the Atomic Weapons Establishment on the ongoing pensions dispute.

Changes to the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) Pension Scheme are a matter for AWE plc to determine as the employer. Throughout this process Ministry of Defence (MOD) officials have been in continuous contact with their counterparts at AWE. Additionally, MOD officials have met with representatives of the recognised AWE Trades Unions to clarify the Government's position.
