Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, when he expects air defence systems procured through the European Sky Shield Initiative to enter service.

The UK has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) on the European Sky Shield Initiative (ESSI). This is alongside 14 other European allies, concerning the strengthening of the European pillar associated with NATO's Integrated Air and Missile Defence. There are no current plans for the UK to procure air defence systems via the ESSI. The in-service dates for ESSI capability solutions have not yet been determined across LoI partners.
