Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, whether VAT will be charged on the value of goods imported in parcels into the UK from the EU using (a) Parcelforce and (b) other fast parcel services from January 2020.

At Spring Budget 2020 the Government announced that it would consult informally with stakeholders to explore options on the VAT treatment of imported goods. This includes consideration of direct imports and goods located in the UK at the time of sale.
