Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how many new prisons have been opened since 2010; and how many of those prisons are private facilities.

We have opened four prisons since 2010. These are HMPs Isis, Thameside, Oakwood and Berwyn. HMPs Thameside and Oakwood are privately operated.
