Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether any (a) Army, (b) Navy and (c) Air Force training staff have visited China to provide training in each of the past 10 years.

UK Service personnel have provided the following training in the People’s Republic of China:

RAF Mountain Rescue Service provision of a biennial standards check and specialist mountain training for the Hong Kong Civil Aid Service

2019-20

RAF Mountain Rescue Service provision of a biennial standards check and specialist mountain training for the Hong Kong Civil Aid Service

This training was provided to embed normative standards of safety, security and of legally compliant behaviours in leadership; aviation; civil aid; and gender diversity. No sensitive information was included within any of this training. No training has been provided to the People’s Liberation Army after this period, either in the UK or in the People’s Republic of China.
