Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to his oral evidence to the Defence Select Committee on 2 November 2022, what his Department's estimate of inflationary pressures for the next two years was before the announcement of the Growth Plan 2022.

The Department's estimate of inflationary pressures has not changed since the announcement of the Growth Plan 2022.

The estimate is based on a number of inflation indices that are produced periodically and have not been updated since the announcement of the Growth Plan 2022.
