Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the report by the National Audit Office entitled The Equipment Plan 2021 to 2031, published on 21 February 2021, whether he has made a recent assessment of whether the £700 million which has been made available from the 2022-23 financial year for inflationary growth costs will be sufficient for this purpose.

We continue to monitor the impact of inflation on the Department's budget. Inflation remains a pressing concern for Defence, and we are taking steps to actively manage this. An updated Equipment Plan for years 2022-2032 is currently due for publication later this year.
