Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what recent progress he has made on rolling out electric vehicle charging points (a) nationally and (b) in York.

Data on public electric vehicle charging devices and private, grant-funded charging devices for the United Kingdom and York are presented in the table. Figures are up to 1 October 2021.

  1. Rapid charging devices are those whose fastest connector is rated 25kW and above.

  1. Data on both private charging domestic and workplace devices comes from three Office for Zero Emission Vehicle (OZEV) grant schemes: the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) for businesses; the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) and its predecessor, the Domestic Recharge Scheme (DRS) for private domestic charging devices. The workplace chargepoints listed are exclusively for staff or fleet use. There will be a significant number of private domestic or workplace charging devices that have been installed without funding from OZEV. These are not captured in this data.
