Single Living Accommodation (SLA) is assessed against the 4 Tier Grading methodology which considers the scale, condition and location of the accommodation and place it into 4 grades for charge, 1 being the highest and 4 the lowest. Detailed methodology can be found in JSP 464 Vol 3 Part 1 Chapter 8 at the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/jsp-464-tri-service-accommodation-regulations-tsars

The assessments are undertaken at unit level by a board consisting of four members and representation from the maintenance team. The grade must be reviewed every four years.
