Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what plans he has to introduce virtual medical assessments for war pension applicants.
This question was answered on 9th October 2020
The Centre for Health and Disability Assessments, which conduct medical boards for the War Pension Scheme, is currently investigating the use of video medical assessments for War Pension claims. In the meantime, as face to face medical assessments are currently suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions, Veterans UK is piloting new processes to ensure claims can continue to be considered.
