Question to the Department for Education:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether Ofsted carries out inspections of school libraries as part of its school inspections; and if not, whether there are any plans to do so.

This question is a matter for Ofsted. I have asked Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector, Sir Michael Wilshaw, to write to the noble Lord. A copy of his reply will be placed in the House Library.
