There were more than 350,000 incidences of release on temporary licence (ROTL) in 2017, over 99% of which were completed without a failure on any kind.

Out of these there were 11 recorded failures by individuals on release from prison on temporary licence as a result of alleged offending in 2017. The latest data available shows that there were 4 recorded failures for this reason up to 30 June 2018.
